NEW EDITION OF AIP

1 PRELIMINARY ARRANGEMENTS

1.1 PURPOSE

The purpose of this AIC is to inform the users about the modifications in AIP format in accordance to ICAO Doc 8126 (Aeronautical Information Services Manual) and PANS-AIM 10066 (Procedures for Air Navigation Services - Aeronautical Information Management), expected in the 05 OCT 23 amendment.

1.2 SCOPE

This AIC applies to all users of the aeronautical information published in the brazilian AIP.

1.3 ABBREVIATIONS

2 GENERAL ARRANGEMENTS

2.1. The brazilian AIP is designed according to the Standards and Recomended practices (SARPs) of Annex 15, the Aeronautical Information Services Manual (DOC 8126) and PANS-AIM (Doc 10066) and is intended to satisfy international needs for the exchange of aeronautical information, containing information of a lasting nature, essential for air navigation.
2.2. The brazilian AIP new edition was avaiable on 10 AUG 23, with effective date on 05 OCT 23.
2.3. The AIP information are avaiable in two different digital media:

a) in PDF, as usual; and; and
b) in XML, Digital Dataset according to the Aeronautical Information Exchange Model (AIXM).

3 SPECIFIC ARRANGEMENTS

3.1 NEW AIP FORMAT MODIFICATIONS

3.1.1. Among the modifications made in the brazilian AIP structure, can be mentioned:

a) INSERT/DESTROY
Only the INSERT column is filled as it is a new edition..
b) PART GEN
• GEN 0.1-4
Modification of the Integrated Aeronautical Information Package table, with AIP divided in 3 PARTS not VOLUMES as it was before.
• GEN 2.5

Added the description of each component of ILS.
c) PARTE ENR
ENR 1.9

The item 6.2.5.2 is about the subject “Brazilian DCT routing airspace” and the fixes were removed from it, remaining only the geographic coordinates of the points. It was inserted the link of the Playbook of Routes of the AISWEB Portal.
ENR 2.1

The polygon, unit providing the service, call sign and frequencies of the services provided in a airspace must be consulted on its respective sectors.

The words UNIÃO/UNION are now positioned on the front part, before the FIR name.
ENR 2.2
Replacement of the column “APP/TWR” by NAME, LATERAL LIMITS, VERTICAL LIMITS and CLASS OF AIRSPACE.

Addition of the columns UNIT PROVIDING SERVICE, CALL SIGN, LANGUAGES, AREA AND CONDITIONS OF USEE, HOURS OF SERVICE and FREQUENCY AND PURPOSE.
Removal of the columns HOURS, UPPER LIMIT and LANGUAGES.

ENR 3.1
Union of the columns MAG HDG and DIST (NM).

Replacement of the column VERTICAL LIMITS by UPPER LIMIT, LOWER LIMIT, MEA and AIRSPACE CLASS.

Addition of the column LATERAL LIMITS (NM) and MOCA.

Removal of the flight levels maintaining only the arrows indicating the airways direction.
ENR 3.2
Addition of the column WAYPOINT FORMATION (ANGLE AND DISTANCE INDICATION) and DME ANTENNA ELEV.

Union of the columns MAG HDG and DIST.

Replacement of the columns VERTICAL LIMITS by UPPER LIMIT, LOWER LIMIT and AIRSPACE CLASS.

Removal of the flight levels maintaining only the arrows indicating the airways direction.

Addition of the column RNP TYPE.
ENR 4.4
Addition of the column RMK.
• ENR 5

The EAC were separated by order of nature (SBP, SBR and SBD).
d) PARTE AD

• AD 1.3

All the aerodromes of the Database are listed.

• AD 1.5

It was added field “RMK” with the link of the aerodrome decree.

• AD 2.9

It was added line number 4 “Other runway protection measures”

• AD 2.10

It was inserted a designation for each obstacle.

• AD 2.12

The columns RESA DIMENSIONS and ARRESTING SYSTEM DIMENSIONS were added.

• AD 2.13

When an aerodrome has reduced declared distances, from the presence of a taxiway that does not lead to the usual starting point of running in a runway, the information will no longer be in RMK, but in separated lines in the table.

• AD 2.17

Addition of the column “Hours of applicability”.

• AD 2.18
The service designation ”GNDC” became “TAXI” and two more columns were added: SATVOICE and LOGON ADDRESS.
Part AD 2.17 (ATS Airspace) shall contain the TMA or CTR information where an aerodrome is situated. Thus, the corresponding frequencies of the services provided by these units, as well as the identification of the units that provide the services, the call signs, the languages, the areas, the conditions of use and the hours of operation of the services will be located in part ENR 2.1 (FIR, UIR, TMA and CTA) and ENR 2.2 (Other Regulated Airspaces).
• AD 2.19

The “Service volume radius from GBAS reference Point” and “Coverage/RMK” fields were added to the table and the aid was divided.

• AD 2.24

It was added the link of AISWEB so that the client can access the information about charts.

• AD 2.25
The obstacle charts were removed and they can be consulted through the link in part AD 2.24.
e) Eventual changes in the layout of some Sections or Subsections due to the new rules of extraction of the new Aeronautical Database, without prejudice to the structure recommended by ICAO and its contents.
 

4 FINAL ARRANGEMENTS
